Why Islam’s god is not the God of Christianity

A bold statement by Nihad Awad made on the CAIR website on Thursday, 21 January 2016. It is something that has been repeated on a number of occasions by both Muslims and Christians (and I use the latter loosely). It is based on the claim that the Jewish, Christian and Islamic faiths all find their roots in the Abrahamic tradition. While it is clear that Christianity has Abrahamic roots, as Christ taught He was the Messiah promised in the Jewish tradition and Scriptures, it is another matter for Islam to claim that it also follows the Abrahamic god.
