CAIR’s Muslim on Muslim Oppression

CAIR’s Muslim on Muslim Oppression

By Shireen Qudosi

“Even when CAIR is not successful in silencing critical Muslim voices, there are thousands of other Muslims who step back deeper into silence, afraid of being publicly harassed by CAIR.”

Published with The Forward

In our quest for tolerance, religious spaces often take the lead in showcasing voices of change. But sometimes, those who claim to work for tolerance are themselves agents of hatred. Synagogues should never be bullied into hosting organizations that promote divisiveness and demonization — especially groups like the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), which slurs reformist as “Uncle Toms” and seeks to impose its intolerant views on the American Muslim community. That intolerance often takes the form of harassing reformers who advocate for liberalism within Islam, while only recognizing as legitimate representations of Islam those Muslims who represent Islamic Orthodoxy. While I may not agree with CAIR most of the time, I recognize they have a right to exist and are at times of value to the Muslim community. However, the organization and its leaders do not extend the same right to exist, so to speak, to Muslims they disagree with.

On June 8th, CAIR-NY legal director Albert Fox Cahn had been scheduled to speak at an interfaith Iftar dinner held at Temple Emanu-El in New York; but his speech was canceled after objections to his ties with CAIR, as shared by Cahn in his op-ed in Forward. Hurt by his cancellation, Cahn wrote a piece decrying his exclusion as a victory for intolerance. Yet CAIR itself, an ostensible civil-rights organization, often foments intolerance with its behavior and rhetoric.

Within subcultures of both liberal and conservative Muslims, CAIR is often discreetly seen as both arsonist and firefighter. Cahn’s idealism is admirable, and there is value in CAIR’s activism when they are legitimately defending the civil rights of all Muslims and aren’t attacking their own. But Cahn’s naiveté in devoting his idealism to the cause of CAIR is saddening.

Cahn writes that canceling his speech “empower[s] detractors who seek division and, yes, even hate.” Yet CAIR is a chief offender, engaging in Muslim-on-Muslim oppression through media campaigns and online harassment that demonizes Muslims who contradict them or attempt to engage in true dialogue. Islam is a rich and diverse religious tradition that has given rise to dozens of different sects and has embraced personalization, but CAIR and other Islamist groups deny that plurality and try to suppress all versions of Islam besides their own intolerant strain. In our generation, CAIR has contributed to dangerously politicizing Islam.

It appears that Cahn is dimly aware of CAIR’s faults and has managed to rationalize them away. He writes, “[Solidarity] requires us to welcome our neighbors as we find them, not to transform them into the partner we wish they were. True solidarity requires risks, finding agreement with even those we find disagreeable.”

While I agree with Cahn’s sentiment, solidarity and agreement requires conversation. Radically honest conversations are almost entirely absent when it comes to CAIR. Moreover, Muslims who who ask beautiful questions, such as those who produced a documentary on “honor” killings and female genital mutiliation, run the risk of being targeted by CAIR’s top executives. Rather than working to cultivate solidarity and finding agreement with those they feel are disagreeable, CAIR is vicious toward Muslims they disagree with. They don’t hide their behavior either, often tag-teaming as self-appointed heresy hunters against Muslims who want to have an open conversation on Islamic extremism. The Islamic faith has no organized leadership, and the caliphate of Islamic empires died long ago; today we have Muslim organizations with narrow focus that have gained the widest platform over the course of the last five decades, such as CAIR. These organizations have positioned them as representative of Muslims in America, all the while bullying and attempting to silencing Muslims who challenge an Islamic monolith that leans toward Islamic Orthodoxy. As co-reformer Asra Nomani explains, “Right now, the Council on American Islamic Relations represents the Muslim right. The represent the far right in our Muslim community. What we have happening is the Muslim right is aligning with the American left.”

Despite its imperialistic ambitions, CAIR does not (and should not) speak for the American Muslim community — and the “risks” that Cahn and others take actually make the problem worse. CAIR’s toxicity poisons the possibilities of more widespread dialogue between broader American society and the Muslim-American community. Treating CAIR as an authentic spokesman for American Muslims has the effect of squelching all the moderate Muslim voices who are striving for true, radically honest dialogue between communities.

Hints of this intolerance show through even within Cahn’s own words. He notes approvingly that “the rhetoric of resistance and unity have become more widespread.” Why “resistance”? Why seek a militarized vision of social relations, instead of a true coming together in dignity and mutual learning? People cannot be forced into sincere inclusion; that comes only through shared joyful life experience. But for CAIR, such true inclusion is the opposite of its goal. CAIR wants to exclude, and bully, and marginalize, frontline moderate leaders who are seeking to usher into the modern world a rich Islamic tradition of philosophy and scholarship. Even when CAIR is not successful in silencing critical Muslim voices, there are thousands of other Muslims who step back deeper into silence, afraid of being publicly harassed by CAIR.

Cahn closes by saying that “It is up to this generation to show that we can do better than those leaders of the past, to show that we have learned the lessons of history and the teachings of the Torah, to show that we are not doomed to wander the desert of intolerance.”

The Jewish faith is something I am becoming more intimate with through personal study. I don’t believe the Jewish tradition teaches its followers to submit in the face of oppression and call it “tolerance.” In fact, I have heard of a Jewish saying that “If you are kind to the cruel, you will end by being cruel to the kind.” And we see that playing out here. Champions of indiscriminate interfaith such as Cahn are actually harming moderate Muslim communities, by empowering CAIR’s bigotry and social oppression. I don’t believe that is Cahn’s intention, but that is the system he is defending.

I am sorry that Cahn, in seeking to do good, has found himself championing such a hateful organization. But he now has an opportunity to reexamine his work, and rededicate himself to true solidarity.

San Diego: Ground Zero for Islamic Indoctrination in American Public Schools

San Diego: Ground Zero for Islamic Indoctrination in American Public Schools

By Janet Levy, American Thinker

With a decade-long history of yielding to Islamic demands and recent, more alarming submissions, San Diego city schools appear to be ground zero for Islamic indoctrination within American public schools.  The current capitulation includes an Islam-centric curriculum with input and resources from a Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated organization, which raises First Amendment issues as well as serious concerns of favoritism toward Muslims students over students of other faiths.

The San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) history of accommodation to the demands of Muslim students began in 2007.  That year, Carver Elementary School in East San Diego ignited controversy when 100 Somali Muslim students transferred from a closed charter school.  To accommodate these new students, the school rescheduled its recess periods to allow a 15-minute break each afternoon for Muslim prayer.  The school also added Arabic to its curriculum and removed pork and other non-halal food from the cafeteria.  The outcry forced the school to rescind the break, but it simply shifted the lunch hour to accommodate Muslim prayer.  SDUSD wasn’t as accommodating to a Christian student in 1993 and was successfully sued when it denied a high school student’s request for a lunchtime Bible study group.

This past week, SDUSD, in collaboration with the Council on American Islam Relations (CAIR), instituted an anti-bullying campaign aimed specifically at protecting Muslims students.  In launching the initiative, SDUSD cited an unsubstantiated study by CAIR claiming that 55% of American Muslim students surveyed in California said they were bullied because of their religion.  The new program will include adding lessons on Islam to the social studies curriculum that emphasize prominent Muslims in history, creating Muslim-only “safe spaces,” adding Muslim holidays to the school calendar, and providing support and resources for Muslim students during Ramadan.

According to Stan Anjan, SDUSD’s executive director of family and community engagement, the new program will focus on promoting a positive image of Islam.  Special disciplinary measures will also be created for the so-called bullying of Muslims cited by CAIR.  Instead of detention, the school plans a “restorative justice” program in which students dialogue with each other about perceived bullying words or actions.  Educational materials on Islam and resource listings will be provided to parents and school personnel as well.

CAIR, “a radical fundamentalist front group for Hamas,” according to terrorism expert Steve Emerson, was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror-funding case brought by the Justice Department in 2007.  CAIR operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce terrorist groups Hamas and Hezb’allah, and several CAIR executives have been successfully prosecuted and incarcerated for terrorist activities.  CAIR was designated as a terrorist group by the UAE in 2014.

In 2015, Kevin Beiser and Michael McQuary, two members of the SDUSD Board of Education, issued a formal proclamation in support and recognition of CAIR San Diego, citing ten years of “constructive civic engagement” in San Diego and Imperial Counties.  They praised the organization’s work to “promote not only religious and cultural tolerance and understanding but also justice and equality for all who live in the United States.”

CAIR director Hanif Mohebi was specifically complimented for his commitment to “promoting equitable educational opportunity for all students and preparing them to succeed in a culturally diverse society.”  The trustees recognized a community partnership with CAIR in mediating school situations involving “discrimination and other behavioral issue[s]” and announced CAIR’s upcoming tenth anniversary banquet, centered on the theme “Strengthening Our Voices, Advancing Together.”

CAIR, billing itself as a benign Muslim civil rights organization, has long been at the forefront in pressuring schools and businesses to accommodate the special needs of Muslims.  In 2009, CAIR complained of favoritism when Christian students in Roseville, a Detroit suburb, were given permission slips to attend off-site Bible study classes.  Yet CAIR pushed in 2012 for Dearborn public schools to accommodateMuslim prayer on school grounds and early Friday dismissals for Jumu’ah prayers.  The organization has pressured schools to have a say on textbook selection and to feature its own lecturers for school assemblies.  When a public school teacher in Concrete, Washington referenced the Taliban and Hamas while citing examples of the use of violence to bully people, CAIR cried “racism” and called for a federal investigation, saying the teacher had veered off topic to make anti-Muslim statements.  The school district responded that the teacher’s comments were taken out of context.

Mohebi, the head of CAIR San Diego, has been pushing the “anti-Islamophobia” program.  He recently tried to prevent the San Diego Police Department from attending a training session on Islamic terrorism featuring Ryan Mauro, national security analyst for the Clarion Project, a nonprofit dedicated to exposing the dangers of Islamic extremism.  Mohebi said officers would be learning “conspiracy theories” from Mauro.  Further, Mohebi importuned that no taxpayer dollars should pay for the training and that the SDPD should not confer continuing education credits for attendance.  In a further attempt to control police training on Islam, Mohebi requested the ability to monitor police training to vouch for its accuracy and to provide clarifications throughout the session.

CAIR’s recent activity and its incursion into the San Diego schools’ curriculum has been criticized by Charles LiMandri, president and chief counsel of the Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund (FCDF).  LiMandri said the San Diego program represents a “wholesale realignment of school curricula and the students’ learning environment to the recommendations of a religious organization whose stated mission is to “enhance the understanding of Islam” and “empower American Muslims.”

The FCDF maintains that the First Amendment prohibits a government agency from attempting to effect a secular goal by the propagation of religious concepts.  LiMandri points out the litigious pitfalls of a curriculum which could easily be construed as a governmental endorsement of a religion.  He also cautions that CAIR’s interpretation of the term “bullying” could extend to the stifling of criticism of Islam, further impinging on First Amendment protections.

Citizens for Quality Education San Diego, a non-partisan group of citizens concerned about public education, voiced their opposition to the new Islamic-friendly curriculum and characterized it as an attempt to implement at local schools “anti-American sharia law,” incompatible with the U.S. Constitution.  The group criticized the blatant singling out of the Muslim religion for special accommodations and demanded that the policy be rescinded.  Despite widespread community outcry, the district seems to be moving ahead.

If allowed to stand, the SDUSD anti-bullying program – geared specifically to the CAIR-identified needs of Muslim students – could mark a dangerous departure from treasured constitutional principles and First Amendment protections.  This case warrants serious attention, as it has grave implications for the direction of education and the supremacy of Islam in the nation.

CAIR – Congress no need to look for Islamic Terrorists wishing to enter the country

It seems that CAIR is above the law and it knows it.  This no doubt has connection to their call to all Americans to pressurise their elected representatives not to support the new Visa legislation.  Not only are they actively promoting sharia but are also seeking to dictate what laws are actually made by American legislators.  Good bye American freedoms and the American way of life, welcome sharia and Islamic governance.

Build a wall of resistence (blood)

CAIR calls for blood donations for victims of Florida Pulse gay night club

Today CAIR will have a news conference re the above and although blood for the effected hospitals would be welcome what CAIR really needs to do is encourage Muslims to support the FBI and other law enforcement agencies in countering Islamic terrorism.  But of course according to CAIR there is no such thing as Islamic terrorism, just terrorists.

Omar Mateen Terrorist was 29-Year-Old Islamic Radical

The gunman who killed at least 50 people at an Orlando nightclub early Sunday was a licensed security officer who claimed more than once that he had connections to Islamic terror groups, Fox News has learned.

Investigators identified the shooter as 29-year-old Omar Mateen, a Muslim from Port St. Lucie who had a Statewide Firearms License.

His father, Mir Seddique, told NBC News his son got angry after seeing two men kissing in Miami a couple of months ago, suggesting that may have helped trigger the attack at the gay nightclub. The father claimed the massacre “had nothing to do with religion.”

It will be interesting how CAIR and Obama will spin this attack other than what it is an Islamic terror attack on American soil.  If the Muslim community were true Americans and worked with law enforcement such deadly attacks may not happen.

CAIR Opposes Confirmation of Sen. Sessions as Attorney General

CAIR Opposes Confirmation of Sen. Sessions as Attorney General

Trump must allow CAIR to vet his appointments to his administration

The arrogance of CAIR knows no bounds.  They believe that top appointments to president elects cabinet must have their approval and that those that do not meet their standard of supporting radical Islam should be disallowed from holding office:

“Senator Sessions’ past statements and troubling views on issues impacting American Muslims and other minority communities make him unfit to serve as attorney general,” said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad.

Nihad Awad, a supporter of Hamas, has the audacity to pass judgment on a long-standing public servant who has served his country with distinction over the past 30 years.  A Muslim supremacist, who actively supports terrorists, has the arrogant confidence to declare that if he finds a person wanting, then the person is wanting.  What he does not realise is that the days when he has the ear of Presidents (including Bush) is over and a new sheriff is in town who will go after the criminals, bandits and supporters of Islamic terrorism.

Supporters of Islamic terrorists and the  Muslim Brotherhood should feel fearful that Senator Sessions’ will become America’s AG.   They should be quaking in their boots and Americans should rejoice that at last the world will have at least one administration that will go after radical Islam wherever it is found.  Many of us in Europe are hoping that Trump’s victory (along with BREXIT) will bring in a sea change in thinking and policy where citizens are protected by their elected representatives and Western culture is robustly defended.  We can only live in hope and work towards making this hope a reality.

The CAIR press release goes on to say:

Awad said CAIR is also calling on all Americans to urge members of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee to question Sen. Sessions about his past anti-Muslim statements, current associations with anti-Muslim hate groups and his views on a number of civil rights issues during next week’s confirmation hearing.

This is a prelude to a raft of slurs against Sen. Sessions (a rehash of various Democratic slurs) and nothing more.  Michael I. Krauss comments on The Law Professors’ Scandalous Statement Against Jeff Sessions:

Character assassination is so unworthy of our profession – what an awful example to set for the budding lawyers who are our students!

We see time and time again when Islam and its supporters, the liberal left, have nothing to say they resort to character assassination.  What else do they have?  The rest of their release follows:

TAKE ACTION: See Phone Numbers and Call Script Below

SEE:Attorney General Nomination Hearing

CAIR has already expressed its concerns to members of the committee, and now the Washington-based civil rights organization is urging community members to do the same by contacting all members of that committee to urge that they question Sen. Sessions about the following issues of concern:

1. Question Sen. Sessions on His Support for Trump’s Religious Test to Ban Muslims Traveling to the United States

In December 2015, Sessions voted against and publicly lashed out at a nonbinding amendment seeking to prevent a religious litmus test for people entering into the United States. The amendment had been offered by ranking Senate Judiciary Committee Member Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT).

During that vote, Session said: “Many people are radicalized after they enter. How do we screen for that possibility, if we cannot even ask about an applicant’s views on religion? Would we forbid questions about politics? Or theology?”

Following the horrific shooting at an Orlando nightclub Sessions also warned Americans on FOX News Sunday in June 2016 to “slow down” on foreign born admissions into the United States, particularly those with Islamic backgrounds. “It’s a real part of the threat that we face and if we can’t address it openly and directly and say directly that there is an extremist element within Islam that’s dangerous to the world and has to be confronted.”

2. Question Sen. Sessions About Upholding the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA)

In the past 10 years, the DOJ has opened 51 Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons act (RLUIPA) investigations, filed seven lawsuits under RLUIPA’s land-use provisions and participated in 40 privately filed lawsuits. A number of these cases have been in support of the right of religious minorities, including Christians, Jews, Muslim, and Sikh communities. RLUIPA protects individuals, houses of worship, and other religious institutions from discrimination in zoning and landmarking laws.

In December 2016, the Center for Security Policy published “a practical primer for assessing mosque land use applications” entitled Mosques in America: A Guide to Accountable Permit Hearings and Continuing Citizen Oversight. Given Sen. Sessions close associations with the Center for Security Policy, CAIR questions Sessions ability as Attorney General to support the right of American Muslims to construct houses of worship in the same manner one would expect him to support other religious communities.

3. Question Sen. Sessions Over His Association with Anti-Muslim Hate Groups

In 2015, Sen. Sessions accepted the “Keeper of the Flame” award from the anti-Muslim hate group Center for Security Policy, whose leader Frank Gaffney has asserted his belief in the conspiracy theory that President Obama is Muslim, writing “. . .there is mounting evidence that the president not only identifies with Muslims, but actually may still be one himself.”

The FBI said a Center for Security Policy report is based on “outdated information” and “overstated” any threat Muslim observances pose to America.

Sen. Sessions has also accepted the “Annie Taylor Award” in 2014 from the anti-Muslim hate group the David Horwitz Freedom Center and attended the group’s annual “Restoration Weekend” Florida retreat events in 2008, 2010 and 2013.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, a group that tracks hate movements in the United States, labels David Horowitz “the godfather of the modern anti-Muslim movement.”

4. Question Why Sen. Sessions Sent a Letter to the National Endowment for the Humanities Demanding Their Justification for Funding the “Muslim Journeys Bookshelf” Program

In October 2013, Sen. Sessions as Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee sent a letter to the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) in part demanding a justification for why the NEH was “promoting” Islamic cultures at the expense of Christian and Jewish cultures.

The purpose of NEH’s Muslim Journeys program is to “offering resources for exploring new and diverse perspectives on the people, places, histories, beliefs, and cultures of Muslims in the United States and around the world.”

5. Question Sen. Sessions About Allegations of Racist Comments

In 1986, Sen. Sessions was accused of making racist comments while serving as a U.S. attorney in Alabama, including calling an African-American assistant U.S. attorney “boy.” Sessions has called the NAACP and the ACLU “un-American” and “communist-inspired.”

6. Question Sen. Sessions About Police Reform, Voting Rights, Civil Rights

Sen. Sessions should also be questioned about his views on other critical issues such as police-involved shootings, protection of voting rights, enforcement of hate crimes laws, discrimination in education, and immigration reform.

Suggested Message:

“Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME] and I am calling to urge Senator [NAME OF SENATOR] to oppose the confirmation of Attorney General Nominee Senator Jeff Sessions and to strongly question him about his past anti-Muslim statements and current associations with anti-Muslim hate groups as well as alleged racist remarks during next week’s confirmation hearing taking place Tuesday, January 10.

Specifically, I urge the Senator to question Sen. Sessions about:

• His support for President-elect Trump’s religious test to ban Muslim travels to U.S.
• Whether or not he would uphold the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA)
• His association and acceptance of awards from the anti-Muslim hate groups Center for Security Policy and David Horwitz Freedom Center.
• As Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee, his demanding that the National Endowment for the Humanities justify why it supported educational programs about Muslims in the U.S.
• Allegations over his calling an African-American assistant U.S. attorney “boy” and him calling the NAACP and the ACLU “un-American” and “communist-inspired.”
• His views on other critical issues such as police-involved shootings, protection of voting rights, enforcement of hate crimes laws, discrimination in education, and immigration reform.

There are millions of American Muslims in the United States making innumerable contributions to our nation’s cultural fabric and economic well-being. The civil rights of all persons in the U.S., including Muslims, should be protected and preserved by the next attorney general.”

Our Response

CAIR suggests that their supporters call members of the committee and encourage (pressurize them – Electoral Court anyone?).  What all Trump supporters should do is call each member of the committee (thanks for the contact details CAIR) encouraging the confirmation of Attorney General Nominee Senator Jeff Sessions without further ado (especially if they are your representative).

What this release illustrates is CAIR’s hatred of anything to do with Present-elect Trump administration – because it is full of patriots that understand the danger of Islamic terrorism.  It hates his administration because they know their time of undue influence over American politicians is over and a time of reckoning will shortly be upon them.  The Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliate CAIR should be classified as supporters of Islamic terrorism.

Volume 7 Civilization Jihad Reader Series – Offensive and Defense Lawfare: Fighting Civilization Jihad in America’s Courts

Volume 7 Civilization Jihad Reader Series – Offensive and Defense Lawfare: Fighting Civilization Jihad in America’s Courts

In Offensive and Defensive Lawfare: Fighting Civilization Jihad in America’s Courts, David Yerushalmi, Esq., Director of the American Freedom Law Center (AFLC) and General Counsel for the Center for Security Policy, and AFLC co-founder Robert J. Muise, Esq. describe the use by our Islamic supremacist enemies of U.S. jurisprudence to compel submission to the doctrine they call shariah. As with so many other facets of the Muslim Brotherhood’s stealthy, pre-violent jihad against this country, most of us are unaware that such lawfare is taking place, let alone with such deleterious effects.

Even more importantly, Messrs. Yerushalmi and Muise lay out their recommendations for an offensive strategy to defend the U.S. Constitution and the rights it guarantees our countrymen and women from any further encroachment by Islamic law.Photoshop CCScreenSnapz001 In stark contrast to the longstanding use of such techniques to intimidate or suppress freedom-loving peoples, offensive lawfare against the Brotherhood and its ilk is a relatively nascent area of the law, in which the authors are true pioneers and formidable innovators.

Center for Security Policy President Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. said on the occasion of the publication of the latest monograph in the Center’s Civilization Jihad Reader Series:

“In Offensive and Defensive Lawfare, David Yerushalmi and Robert Muise, have added to the great service they perform for the nation every day through their public interest law firm’s pro bono representation of exponents of religious and other freedoms. We hope that this treatment of their battlespace – with its clear depiction of the Islamic supremacists’ lawfare and insights into how this front of the civilization jihad can best be countered – will inspire many other accomplished litigators to join the authors in this fight.”

The Center for Security Policy/Secure Freedom is proud to present this monograph as a superb addition to its Civilization Jihad Reader Series . Offensive and Defensive Lawfare: Fighting Civilization Jihad in America’s Courts is available for purchase in kindle and paperback format on

A useful list of individuals and organisations that CAIR sees as dangerous

CAIR’s site Islamophobia Monitor does us an unexpected favour and it does not know it. The intention of the site is to show the dangerous extent of Islamophobia in the USA, and it is a very useful site to monitor as it is a source of valuable information on how they think and the ways they are seeking to convince the American public to support their work.  I am a great believer in plain speech and one of the issues I have with CAIR and the left is that they believe that ordinary people (whether American, British, Australian or European) are brainless morons that are incapable of making informed decisions and have informed opinions. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and their real hatred of President Trump

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and their real hatred of President Trump

CAIR on American patriot’s and the new/old America

Throughout the presidential election process CAIR has been extremely vocal in its opposition and clear hatred of President Trump because, like the mainstream media, they believed the Trump Train would come to a nasty and tearful end.  They felt they had the protection of the Obama administration (which of course they did) and that this would continue with Hillary Clinton.    Their web-site documents their continued journey of opposition to American values and the American way of life.

Imagine their shock and surprise that Americans still believed in America and America first.  Yet they recover quickly as we can see from this communication that they just sent out to their subscribers:

CAIR Decries Appointment of Islamophobe, White Nationalist Bannon as Top Trump Strategist

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 11/13/16) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, tonight decried the appointment of anti-Muslim conspiracy theorist and White nationalist “alt-right” extremist Stephen Bannon as chief strategist and senior counselor to President-elect Donald Trump.

Bannon, formerly head of alt-right mouthpiece “Breitbart News,” promoted conspiracy theories that “paint a dark and paranoid picture” of American Muslims. Breitbart News traffics in misogynistic and racist stories targeting women, people of color and immigrants.

A White Nationalist Is the New White House Chief Strategist
Trump Campaign CEOWas a Big Promoter of Anti-Muslim Extremists

According to CAIR’s Islamophobia Monitor website, Bannon also hosted a daily radio show in which many of his guests “instigated fear and loathing of Muslims in America” and promoted “racist, anti-immigrant, and anti-Muslim content.”

“The appointment of Stephen Bannon as a top Trump administration strategist sends the disturbing message that anti-Muslim conspiracy theories and White nationalist ideology will be welcome in the White House,” said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad. “We urge President-elect Trump to reconsider this ill-advised appointment if he truly seeks to unite Americans.”

Awad added that Bannon’s appointment adds fuel to the growing fire of racial and ethnic hatred and division in America.

CAIR recently updated its site with information about the extremist anti-Muslim views of a number of potential Trump administration appointees, including Bannon.

It is not only Stephen Bannon on CAIR’s islamophobe hit list

It is interesting if you watch CAIR’s response to the election result below you will see statements of unity, acceptance of the result (very generous of them) and the need for the Trump administration to work with the Muslim community.  If this were true it would be a fantastic sea change in their attitude towards America and American freedoms.  Freedoms they aggressively claim for themselves but seek to deny to other Americans.  They can aggressively attack and seek to destroy the characters of those that criticise Islam, and this is their right under the Constitution, yet those of us that criticise Islam are not afforded this right.  Islam is above reproach or criticism and how dare anyone believe they can challenge it in any shape or form?

This press conference on the election result is meant to allay our fears that the Muslim community accepts the result of the election and supports the Constitution.  If only that were true.  Many of the speakers are condescending and you can see they are wooden and robotic in the delivery of their speeches.  Reminds me of Hillary Clinton on campaign, you knew her heart was not in it.  If only, this reflected their arrogant and hateful position towards President-elect Trump and his supporters (ordinary Americans) during the presidential campaign.  Are we to believe that they suddenly changed their minds and respect and value either President-elect Trump or his supporters?  It is obvious that in this news conference they did not want to be there and did not want to speak the words they were forced to speak.

We see CAIR’s real position on a section of their web-site called Islamophobia Monitor under the title: Islamophobia and the Potential Trump Team (as of the 10th of November 2016).

As President-elect Trump staffs his administration, the names of potential appointees are being circulated in the media. Below is a preliminary list of potential appointees, in alphabetical order, and their statements in relation to Islam and Muslims.

Ben Carson – Former GOP Presidential Candidate

  • Carson repeated a discredited conspiracy theory about “civilizational jihad,” a fantastical plan about a Muslim plot to take over America.
  • Carson declared that after studying Islam: “…you won’t call it a religion, you’ll call it a life organization system.” Prior to that statement, Carson said, “I don’t think most people actually understand what jihad is. They don’t understand the whole apocalyptic vision that they [Muslims] have. When you understand that, you understand what drives an organization like ISIS.”
  • Carson said Muslims could embrace American Democracy “Only if they’re schizophrenic,” adding, “I don’t see how they can do it otherwise, because they have two different philosophies boring at you [that contradict each other]. That would be very difficult.”
  • Carson said, “I agree,” following South Carolina GOP chairman Matt Moore’s message to Muslim students at Carolina State University: “You are as American as me and Dr. Carson and Ben Watson. You guys should know that,” and “I despise any anti-Muslim rhetoric in this country.” Carson had been seated next to Moore, when Moore made the statement.
  • When Syrian Muslim refugees became a campaign issue, Carson said, “Bringing in people from the Middle East right now carries extra danger and we cannot put our people at risk because we are trying to be politically correct.” Carson also compared Syrian refugees to rabid dogs.
  • When shown a poll indicating that 51 percent of likely U.S. voters would not be willing to vote for a Muslim for president, Carson said “I’m surprised it’s only 51 percent” and laughed.
  • Robert Dees, Carson’s key foreign policy advisor, “strongly suspects that all Muslims are terrorists and that the United States should have a military strategy based on Christian evangelism.”
  • Speaking on Meet the Press, Carson said Islam is not consistent with the U.S. Constitution. He also said he would not vote for a Muslim for President. Even after it was pointed out that Article VI of the Constitution prohibits such religious tests for public office, Carson refused to alter his stand and later added that the next president should “be sworn in on a stack of Bibles, not a Qur’an.” Asked about his Meet the Press remarks during a CNN interview, Carson added, “I would have problems with somebody who embraced all the doctrines associated with Islam. If they are not willing to reject sharia and all the portions of it that are talked about in the Quran.”
  • Carson has said he would appoint a Muslim to the Supreme Court if they reject “Sharia,” or Islamic religious principles.
  • In an interview with Breitbart, Carson said followers of radical Islam, “have the same goal as they did when Mohammed was around. They want to dominate. And they want everyone else to submit to them.” The false notion that violent extremists represent the authentic teachings and practices of Prophet Mohammad is a common Islamophobic trope.
  • Displaying a lack of familiarity with Islam during an interview with radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt, Carson opined that violent extremist Sunnis and violent extremist Shias could unite against the United States. A commentator in the conservative National Review noted that this assertion is “one that many foreign policy experts would likely dismiss entirely.”
  • Carson initially said he saw video of Muslims celebrating in New Jersey after the 9/11 terror attacks. He later saidthis recollection was a “mistake.”

Chris Christie – New Jersey Governor

  • Following Islamophobic criticism of his nomination of Sohail Mohammed as a New Jersey Superior Court judge, Christie pushed back. Commenting on the baseless fear some were spreading about Islamic religious principles Christie bluntly stated, “This Sharia law business is just crap. It’s just crazy, and I’m tired of dealing with the crazies.” Of the nominee, Christie stated, “He is an extraordinary American who is an outstanding lawyer and played an integral role in the post-September 11th period in building bridges between the Muslim American community in this state and law enforcement.”
  • At the height of the Park 51 controversy during the summer of 2010, Christie spoke admirably about the Muslim community in the United States, stating, “We cannot paint all of Islam with that brush. We can’t paint all of Islam with the Muhammad Atta brush. We have to bring people together.

David Clarke – Sheriff of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin

  • Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke discussed his support for patrolling Muslim neighborhoods, and suggested that U.S. law enforcement has already been successfully invoking this type of policing.  “We have to get over the notion that these [Muslim communities] are no-go zones.”
  • Asked if he supported Senator Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) proposal for police patrolling of Muslim neighborhoods to monitor for Islamic radicalization, Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. said, “sure,” and added that “we already are” doing such patrols and in New York City in particular, police are looking for “hot spots,” for “evidence of radicalization.”

Jeff Sessions – Alabama Senator

  • “It’s a real part of the threat that we face and if we can’t address it openly and directly and say directly that there is an extremist element within Islam that’s dangerous to the world and has to be confronted.” Sessions warned Americans to “slow down” on foreign born admissions into the United States, particularly those with Islamic backgrounds.
  • “President Obama will not say the words [Islamic extremism]. Neither will Hillary Clinton, who would like to be the commander-in-chief of the United States military forces. Frankly, somebody who cannot understand the clarity of this threat and the need for honest talk about it — the need to protect America — is disqualified to be president. They just simply don’t get it, and that’s not acceptable anymore,” Jeff Sessions said.
  • “[Trump] said a temporary ban until we figure out what’s going on and I think that’s a legitimate analysis here. It is time for us to review what we’re doing, put aside political correctness, reject the idea that we can’t even say that radical Islam is the driving force behind this terrorism.”

John Bolton – Senior Fellow at American Enterprise Institute, former Ambassador to the UN

  • Bolton is the chairman of the Gatestone Institute. The Institute’s president is Nina Rosenwald whose Abstraction Fund is a major source of funding for hate groups in the U.S. Islamophobia Network.

Mary Fallin – Oklahoma Governor

  • Republican Governor Mary Fallin signed an anti-Islam bill into law on April 22, 2013. The bill was sponsored by Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern, who had previously been reprimanded by the Oklahoma House for disparaging women and ethnic minorities. The wording of the bill is clearly lifted from American Laws for American Courts, authored by David Yerushalmi at staffer at the notoriously anti-Islam Center for Security Policy.

Lt. General Michael Flynn – Former Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency

  • In June 2016, Lt. General Flynn, a retired United States Army lieutenant general, was appointed as an adviser and board member for ACT for America, a core element in the U.S. Islamophobia network.
  • “Radical Islam metastasising throughout the world. What keeps me up at night is the sobering realisation that evil exists. The radicalisation of Islam and its barbaric cause that uses modernity to influence potentially millions around the world to join their cause should keep us all up at night,” he said.
  • “Let us not fear what we know to be true. Let us accept what we were founded upon. Our Judeo-Christian ideology built on a moral set of rules and laws. Let’s not fear, but instead fight those who want to impose Sharia law and radical Islamist views.”
  • “They [radical Islamists] want to impose their way of life on us. On the West and principally the United States of America.”
  • “It’s not in their [Muslim’s] conscience, life like we understand life. It just isn’t”
  • “I don’t see Islam as a religion. I mean, I see it as a political ideology. I’ve studied it, I’ve looked at it, I see it as a political ideology.”
  • Additional Islamophobia rhetoric can be found here and here.

Mike Huckabee – Former Arkansas Governor and Republican Presidential Candidate

  • As a Fox News host, Huckabee falsely claimed that Muslims believe “Jesus Christ and all the people who follow him are a bunch of infidels who should be essentially obliterated.” Huckabee also referred to Islam as the “antithesis of the gospel of Christ.” He also seemed to compare Muslim prayer being allowed in a church to the showing of pornographic films.
  • He called Islam “a religion that promotes the most murderous mayhem on the planet in their so-called holiest days.” He said,  “the Muslims will go to the mosque, and they will have their day of prayer, and they come out of there like uncorked animals—throwing rocks and burning cars.” He declared, “Radical Islam is a threat to all civilization.” “The greatest threat to civilization today is the radical Muslim ideology that would take us back to the seventh century and to kill anybody who disagrees with that,” he added. “It’s a regressive worldview, and it’s a worldview that actually believes we should not have education and revelation, nor should we have individual freedoms and liberties.”
  • If Islam is as wonderful and peaceful as its adherents say, shouldn’t they be begging us to all come in and listen to these peaceful sermons? Shouldn’t they be begging us all to come, and listen, and bring the FBI so we’d all want to convert to Islam?” “If there’s something so secretive going on in there that somebody isn’t allowed to go and hear it, maybe we do need for sure to send somebody in there and gather the intelligence.”“So, if it’s a public place, and people are invited to come, how does it violate anybody’s First Amendment rights that somebody shows up because they might want to just listen in and see is there something that is a little nefarious?”

Newt Gingrich – Former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives

  • Gingrich has advocated a Muslim-specific religious test for eligibility to remain in the United States: “We should, frankly, test every person here who is of a Muslim background and if they believe in Sharia, they should be deported.”
  • Gingrich told a South Carolina town hall that he would only support a Muslim for the presidency if that person would “commit in public to give up Sharia.”
  • Gingrich told an audience that he feared that by the time his grandchildren reach his age “they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists and with no understanding of what it once meant to be an American.”
  • Gingrich believes that Sharia is the “mortal threat to the survival of freedom in the United States.”

Rick Perry – Former Texas Governor

  • In 2005, Governor Perry participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for a Texas mosque. He also worked to create the “Muslim Histories and Cultures” program “which has trained scores of teachers who have taught thousands of Texas students” the basics of Islam.
  • In 2011, Perry held a Christian prayer rally “using his office’s prestige, letterhead, website and other resources to promote it.” Muslim and Jewish groups raised objections to the event use of public resources for an event that did not provide a platform for all Texas faiths.
  • In 2014, Perry was a keynote speaker at the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s Restoration Weekend Conference.
  • In 2016, he said, “The message I want to get out is we are in a war with radical Islam—we are not in a war with all people of the Muslim faith by any sense of the imagination.” “Muslims are our allies, and we need to preserve that and work with them,” Perry said. “It’s one of the real challenges of our time to be able to identify who our friends are, and certainly these are our friends.”

Rick Scott – Florida Governor

  • Rick Scott repeatedly refused to answer and dodged direct questions about whether Islam is a religion “that hates America.” Instead, he said, “There are people that love this country. There’s people that don’t love this country. What we do know, and it’s no surprise, is that radical Muslims don’t like our country.”
  • In 2011 Scott declined to speak at an event that featuring anti-Islam activist Pamela Geller.

Rudy Giuliani – Former New York Mayor

Reince Priebus – Republican National Committee Chairman

Sam Brownback – Kansas Governor

Sarah Palin – Former Alaska Governor

Sid Miller – Texas Agricultural Commissioner

Stephen Bannon – Executive Chairman of Breitbart News

  • Bannon has conducted dozens of interviews, steeped in unfounded claims and conspiracy theories, which “paint a dark and paranoid picture of America’s 3.3 million Muslims and the world’s second-largest faith.” He also hosted a daily radio show where many of his guests instigated fear and loathing of Muslims in America.

  • Breitbart News pushes racist, anti-immigrant, and anti-Muslim content and has defended the Alt Right at length.

  • Bannon referred to a Muslim advocacy group as a “front group” and “a bunch of lies,” and warned about the threat of “Shariah courts” taking over Texas.

  • “The mainstream media, all of it, including the Washington Post and the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, are all basically going along the lines of being Shariah-compliant on blasphemy laws,” he said.

I have included their position in full as I want there to be no mistake in the minds of Americans.  CAIR holds President-elect Trump’s proposed administration in total contempt and always will.   If you look at the great Americans CAIR seeks to destroy, it tells you that all their empty words about loving America are nothing more than smoke in the wind.  We call it double speak, Islam calls it Taqiyya.

If you read the above and then look closer at CAIR you will see their contempt for anything to do with our Judeo-Christian culture and civilisation.  They receive such support from the left because the left despises our Judeo-Christian roots with a passion.  I always remember the Nazi position on propaganda.  You can get away with the biggest of lies if you tell them often enough.  It is unfortunate for the left/progressives and for Islam we are not all the ignorant morons they think we are.

For those of us who are Christians, CAIR is a clear enemy of our Lord Jesus Christ because Muhammad hated Christ and Christians with a passion (the real Christ).  I have a number of pieces on my site on this for those that are interested and the claim that Islam worships the same god as our God would be laughable if it were not so serious.

I would recommend the work of the Center for Security Policy for the real deal with CAIR.  This link takes you to an interesting article on CAIR and the recent election.
